Summer Layers in September

I am so damn over this heat in LA! We have been teetering around 95 degrees on some days over the past week or so. It's just too hot. In the grand scheme I guess some people deal with this weather all year round, but I just don't do well with it! Sweater and boot weather where are you?! I mostly hate the heat because layering in summer is damn near impossible, and in my opinion layers make the perfect ensemble! Here is my stab at "summer layers", lace bells, a light weight tank, sheer blouse and oversized floppy hat. Until I can bust out my chunky knits and suede coats this where we stand LA heat wave.

Dying Over: Zara

Zara has quickly become one of my most favorite contemporary shops! They stock everything from perfect sheer basics basics, classic staples like the blazer and boyfriend jeans, to edgy fashion forward leather pieces.  What I love so much about Zara is the quality for the price. What can I say they had me at "leather jacket and ankle boots under $100!" There are not a lot of places out there that you can shop for affordable pieces that look expensive, accurately mimic the current designer pieces and actually hold up! Zara continues to wow me as they move away from there more structured conservative pieces to a slightly new edgier feel! Their new Fall 13' pieces and TRF lookbook are definitely channeling a bit of "Heidi Slimane for Saint Laurent" vibes if you know what I mean. THANK YOU THANK YOU ZARA for giving hope to fashionable shoppers on a budget. In a sea of HM's, Forever 21's, Urban Outfitters and Topshop's, Zara offers something fresh and unique.  If you need me this weekend I will probably be over at Zara buying out the place! Pleasant shopping, and I apologize in advance for aiding in emptying your bank account.
